6 slices bacon 1 medium onion
sliced 1 medium garlic clove
minced 1 Tbsp margarine 2 cans (10 3/4 ozs. each) low sodium condensed chicken broth 2 soup cans water 1 can (about 16-ozs.) low sodium garbanzo beans (chick peas)
drained 1 can (about 15-ozs.) low sodium red kidney beans
drained 1 can (about 15-ozs.) stewed tomatoes 2 cups cooked large shell macaroni grated peel and juice of 1/2 lemon
Cook bacon until crisp. In a saucepot saute onion and garlic in margarine until tender. Add chicken broth, water, beans, tomatoes, macaroni, lemon peel, and juice; heat to blend flavors.
